UFC Fight Night 95 Finalized Lineup

By Tom Taylor - September 23, 2016

Tomorrow night, the UFC will return to Brasilia, Brazil with UFC Fight Night 95.

Cris Cyborg

The card’s main event will see reigning Invicta featherweight champion Cris “Cyborg” Justino make her sophomore UFC appearance opposite Sweden’s Lina Lansberg. The two will meet at a catchweight of 140 lbs.

Cyborg, who had a brutal time cutting down to 140 lbs., made her UFC debut in May, dominating a game Leslie Smith to a first round TKO. The win extended the Brazilian bomber’s streak to an incredible 16, which also includes triumphs over Shayna Baszler, Gina Carano, Marloes Coenen (twice), and Jan Finney. Cyborg has finished all but two of her wins by knockout or TKO. Lansberg, meanwhile, will be making her UFC debut. While she has been pegged as a massive underdog on the basis of her disadvantages in the size and experience departments, her ample ring-time in the Muay Thai arena could make this contest very interesting.

In the evening’s co-main event, we’ll see former bantamweight champion Renan Barao take on Phillipe Nover in an appealing featherweight showdown. After losing for a second time to TJ Dillashaw, Barao made the jump from bantamweight to featherweight in search of greener pastures. Unfortunately, the dynamic Brazilian had his featherweight debut spoiled by a much larger Jeremy Stephens. He’ll look to gain his footing in the division against Nover, who gave up a split decision to Zubaira Tukhugov in his last bout.

The other highlights of UFC Fight Night 95’s main card include a showdown between struggling heavyweights Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva and Roy “Big Country” Nelson, and a compelling scrap between lightweight contenders Paul Felder and Francisco “Massaranduba” Trinaldo.
