Catch episode 3 of the UFC’s behind-the-scenes series, Embedded, as it tracks the lives of fighters as they make the final preparations during fight week.

The third episode features UFC 218 participants Francis Ngannou and Michelle Waterson as they team up on media duties, sitting in on a local morning show in Los Angeles, California. Ngannou makes a confident prediction of a first-round knockout over his opponent Alistair Overeem, while Waterson recounts advice received from a relative when she began her fighting career.

Continuing to build an aura around the Cameroon-born Ngannou, we hear a story of struggle as he found his way to America to make his dream of a fighter a reality by first finding an actual gym to train out of.

An intense featherweight champion gives his views on accepting all comers as Max Holloway waits for a meal to be prepared by his nutritionist as he cuts weight for Friday morning’s official weigh-in. He then takes us to the Fowling Warehouse in Michigan where he and his camp participate in what can only be described as a bowling-football-horsehoes hybrid.

The main card fighters make their arrivals in Detroit as well. Settling in for the week ahead as they prepare for what could be one of the best cards of the year.

Food is on the mind of several fighters as they cut weight while fulfilling promotional obligations. Henry Cejudo and Felice Herrig work to contain themselves with just a few days left before fight day. Their arrival weights are recorded as well as the life of a fighter never truly seems to slow down, even when the preparation and travel are complete.

Finally, a less than sincere apology comes from Paul Felder as he tries on what will become his fight gloves on Saturday night.

UFC 218 takes place Saturday, December 1st from the Little Caesar’s Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
