On January 20, the UFC will return to Boston, Massachusetts with UFC 220. Though UFC 220 will be the first pay-per-view of the year 2018, it already looks like it could be one of the best.

Stipe Miocic wins, UFC 220

In the main event of the evening, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will look to make history with a record-breaking third-straight defense of the UFC heavyweight title. His opponent will be hulking French-Cameroonian knockout artist Francis Ngannou, a man widely touted as the next big thing in MMA.

The co-main event, meanwhile, will occur at light heavyweight, where reinstated champion Daniel Cormier will look to erase the memory of his July encounter with Jon Jones by taking out Swiss knockout artist Volkan Oezdemir.

Ahead of this anticipated card, the UFC has released the official poster for it, and though it sticks to the tried-and-true template for UFC posters (Fighter A staring down Fighter B), it’s still a pretty good one. Check it out below.

Stipe Miocic will step into the cage at UFC 220 on a five-fight streak, having recently stopped Mark Hunt, Andrei Arlovski, Fabricio Werdum (to capture the heavyweight crown), Alistair Overeem, and most recently, Junior dos Santos. Of these men, only the notoriously durable Hunt escaped the first round.

Francis Ngannou, meanwhile, is on a 10-fight streak. His six most recent wins have occurred in the UFC, where he has smashed Luis Henrique, Curtis Blaydes, Bojan Mihajlovic, Antony Hamilton, Andrei Arlovski and Alistair Overeem. He’s 11-1.

Daniel Cormier last fought in July, when he was knocked out by a Jon Jones head kick. When Jones failed a pre-fight drug test, however, the light heavyweight title was returned to Cormier.

Oezdemir, finally, has enjoyed a lightning-quick sprint to the light heavyweight title, having established himself as the division’s top contender in less than year’s time, defeating Ovince Saint Preux by decision and knocking out Misha Cirkunov and Jimi Manuwa.

Who do you think wins in the UFC 220 main and co-main events?
