UFC 210

UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby has earned the reputation as the best matchmaker in MMA. Ahead of April 8th’s light heavyweight showdown between UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, and UFC light heavyweight #1 contender Anthony Johnson, Shelby sat down with UFC correspondent Megan Olivi to break down the fight, as well as several other high-profile fights on the card.

UFC 210: Daniel Cormier vs. Anthony Johnson

The fight card is currently as follows:

UFC 210

Main Card (7 p.m. PT)
Daniel Cormier (c)(18-1) vs. Anthony Johnson (22-5)*
Chris Weidman (13-2) vs. Gegard Mousasi (41-6-2)
Cynthia Calvillo (4-0) vs. Pearl Gonzalez (6-1)
Thiago Alves (21-11) vs. Patrick Cote (23-10)
Will Brooks (18-2) vs. Charles Oliveira (21-7-0, 1NC)

FS1 Prelims (5 p.m. PT)
Myles Jury (15-2) vs. Mike De La Torre (14-6)
Kamaru Usman (9-1) vs. Sean Strickland (18-1)
Shane Burgos (8-0) vs. Charles Rosa (11-2)
Patrick Cummins (8-4) vs. Jan Blanchowicz (19-6)

UFC Fight Pass Prelims (3:15 p.m. PT)
Gregor Gillespie (8-0) vs. Andrew Holbrook (12-1)
Josh Emmett (10-0) vs. Desmond Green (19-5)
Katlyn Chookagian (8-1) vs. Irene Aldana (7-3)
Jenel Lausa (7-2) vs. Magomed Bibulatov (13-0)

While the entire card is certainly a stacked one, both the main event and co-main event have drawn particular attention from fans.

In the main event, UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will look to pick up his second successful title defense as he looks to defeat Anthony Johnson for a second time. For Johnson of course, he will be looking to avenge his 2015 loss to Cormier for the vacant light heavyweight title.

Chris Weidman Gegard Mousasi

In the co-main event, former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will look to snap a 2-fight skid and return to middleweight title contention, as well as the win column. His opponent Gegard Mousasi however, is looking to extend an impressive 4-fight win streak that saw him go undefeated over the course of 2016 as he climbed the UFC’s stacked middleweight ladder.
