Daniel Cormier kicks Anthony Rumble Johnson, UFC 210

In less than two weeks’ time, the UFC will touch down in Buffalo, New York with UFC 210.

In the main event of this card, we’ll see Daniel Cormier attempt to defend the UFC light heavyweight title against big puncher Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. This bout will be a rematch of an exciting 2014 contest that saw Cormier weather an early storm to grind his foe down and lock up a rear-naked choke for the win.

The co-main event of UFC 210, meanwhile, will see former middleweight champion Chris “All-American” Weidman attempt to get back on track against long-time contender Gegard Mousasi. The winner of this fight will take a substantial step in the direction of a middleweight title shot.

In advance of this anticipated Buffalo, NY card, the UFC has released an extended preview for the event. This preview shines the spotlight on the aforementioned headliner and co-headliner, outlining the events that led to them and what is on the line in each contest. Cormier and Rumble’s rematch was initially supposed to occur in December, but this plan was unfortunately scrapped when Cormier pulled out of the fight with an injury. In his most recent bout, the champ defeated Anderson Silva in a last-minute, non-title fight. Rumble, meanwhile, will enter this fight on a three-fight streak, having recently knocked out top fighters in Jimi Manuwa, Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira.

Weidman will enter UFC 210 on a two-fight losing streak, having been stopped by Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero in his two most recent fights. Mousasi, meanwhile, is on a four fight streak. In his last fights, he has defeated Thales Leites, Thiago Santos, Vitor Belfort, and Uriah Hall.
