UFC 203 Bonus Report

By Chris Taylor - September 11, 2016

Last night’s UFC 203 in Cleveland, Ohio, delivered some memorable fights and solid finishes.

Alistair Overeem vs. Stipe Miocic

With that said, UFC President Dana White handed out four “Performance of the night” awards at yesterday’s UFC 203 post-fight press conference.

Those $50,000 ‘UFC 203’ bonuses went to the following fighters:

Performance of the night bonus – Yancy Medeiros earned an extra $50k for his second-round submission victory over Sean Spencer at UFC 203. Medeiros caught Spencer with a high kick early in round two that sent his opponent falling to the canvas. Yancy immediately pounced on Sean following the kick and after taking Spencer’s back was able to secure the fight-ending rear-naked choke.

Performance of the night bonus – Jessica Andrade earned a “performance of the night bonus” for her impressive first-round submission victory over Joanne Calderwood. Andrade was able to score some big takedowns early and eventually locked in a fight-ending guillotine choke on her Scottish opponent.

Fight of the night bonus: Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem each pocketed an extra $50k for their main event title fight. Overeem was able to drop Miocic with a punch early on in the fight, but was unsuccessful in his attempt to submit the champion with a follow-up guillotine choke. Shortly after that, Stipe would get Alistair to the canvas where he unleashed some brutal ground and pound which culminated with a brutal knockout.
