UFC welterweight Tony Ferguson doesn’t seem to be pleased with Dana White. ‘El Cucuy’ has been out of action since a short-notice clash with Nate Diaz last September. Originally, the two fan-favorites were slated to face different men at UFC 279. Diaz was expected to fight Khamzat Chimaev, while Ferguson was set to face Li Jingliang.

UFC commentator Michael Bisping believes Conor McGregor had easier options for his return. ‘The Notorious’ has been out of action since his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. In the main event of UFC 264, McGregor broke his leg in the waning seconds of the first round. As a result, the former dual-weight champion has been out of the cage for well over a year.

That plan changed when Khamzat Chimaev missed weight for his previously scheduled outing with Diaz. The new main event of UFC 279 ended up being Diaz vs. Ferguson. In the end, Ferguson was submitted via guillotine choke.
