VIDEO | Tito Ortiz responds to Chael Sonnen’s claim that he is going broke

Former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen recently told TMZ that his upcoming Bellator 170 opponent Tito Ortiz was going broke.

“The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” did not take well to Sonnen’s comments and quickly fired back at Chael by releasing the following video on his Instagram:

The Chael Sonnen vs. Tito Ortiz light heavyweight fight was announced three days ago by Bellator officials.

Chael Sonnen signed a multi-fight deal with Bellator MMA last month. “The American Gangster” has not competed inside the cage since suffering a TKO loss to Rashad Evans at UFC 167.

Sonnen’s most recent win came in August of 2013 when he submitted Mauricio “Shogun” Rua with a guillotine choke at UFC Fight Night 26.

Meanwhile, former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz most recently competed at Bellator 142 where he suffered a submission loss to Liam McGeary in his bid for the promotions 205-pound strap.

Prior to the setback, “The Huntington Beach Bad Boy” had scored back-to-back victories over Stephan Bonnar and Alexander Shlemenko respectively.

The Sonnen vs. Ortiz bout will headline Bellator 170 which takes place January 21 live from The Forum in Los Angeles.
