Earlier this month, Stipe Miocic shocked the world as he knocked out UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum with a single punch at UFC 198 to win the heavyweight championship. To make Miocic’s win even more impressive, he knocked out Werdum with the single punch while moving backwards.

Now that he’s had some time to take in the win, Miocic joined SportsCenter to reflect on the moment.

“I train that way all the time, moving backwards. We work on it quite a bit, and I just stepped in my angle and hit him with a good right hand. Plus he was running after me, which left him way open for a good shot.”

“It was overwhelming. Cried a lot. I’m a sensitive baby I guess, but it was just amazing to get so much support from everyone. Everyone was behind me, and it was just an amazing feeling.”
