Over the weekend, Bellator welterweight champion Douglas Lima and former UFC title challenger Rory MacDonald faced off for the first time ahead of their Bellator title fight. The welterweight title fight is set to take place on January 20 at The Forum in California.

Lima was dressed in a suit while MacDonald opted for a more casual look wearing a black turtleneck, which the late Apple CEO, Steve Jobs was usually seen wearing.

Lima recently spoke with MMA Junkie about their staredown and fashion sense.

“I thought I had the better looks,” Lima said humorously.

“I thought he was going to sell me an iPad,” Lima said of what was going through his mind when he stood face-to-face with MacDonald at the Bellator 183 event.

“You know, nobody broke us apart,” Lima added about the staredown that felt a bit awkward. “So we just stood there. I didn’t want to be the guy who looked away first, but it didn’t matter. It’s fun. It’s real. It’s a good feeling to get that first staredown.”

Immediately after their fight was announced by Bellator, Lima and MacDonald took to Twitter to throw a few shots at one another to get their rivalry going. The talk didn’t stop when they were standing face-to-face as MacDonald stated that Lima “is in for a hurting” and that he is “a level above these guys,” after defeating Paul Daley with a rear-naked choke in the second round of his Bellator debut. Lima replied that Bellator can continue to bring his challengers over and will continue to take them out.
