Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is getting back to competition for a title fight in the Octagon after taking more than a year off. Rousey will take on the current champion, Amanda Nunes, in a five-round title fight at UFC 207 in December.

Rousey last fought in November of 2015 where she lost for the first time in her professional mixed martial arts career. Rousey suffered a devastating knockout delivered by Holly Holm at UFC 193 in Australia.

UFC commentator Joe Rogan recently spoke about the matchup between Nunes and Rousey and feels that it is the toughest fight for Rousey in the UFC bantamweight division.

“Before Holly knocked out Ronda, I had said that I just thought Holly Holm needed more fights in the UFC, like more people to know who she is,” Rogan stated on his “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast. “I think Amanda Nunes is the more dangerous fight because Amanda Nunes is a black belt in jiu-jitsu. And, she hits f–king hard man,” Rogan stated. “She hits so much harder than most of the women in that division. She’s super aggressive.”

Amanda Nunes holds a 13-4 professional MMA record and has gone 6-1 in the UFC with her one loss in the organization coming against Cat Zingano. The two met at UFC 178 back in 2014 where Zingano finished Nunes by TKO in the third round. Nunes has finished five of her six UFC wins by either TKO or submission, only going the distance once against Valentina Shevchenko.

Rousey has just a single loss on her professional MMA record. Prior to her loss to Holm, Rousey finished all 12 of her opponents. 11 of those finishes came in the very first round while Miesha Tate made it to the third round but was ultimately submitted in their UFC title fight with one of Rousey’s infamous armbars.
