Paige VanZant comments on fighter pay and a career outside of the Octagon

By Russell Ess - August 29, 2016

Rising UFC star Paige VanZant’s stock continued its rise with her highlight reel knockout over Bec Rawlings at UFC on FOX 21 over the weekend.

VanZant talked with Ariel Helwani on Monday’s episode of The MMA Hour following her big win and discussed the potential of doing more work outside of the Octagon and the future of fighter pay.

“I’m a fighter first, but Hollywood does pay very well, and there are amazing things happening (in my career). Conor McGregor had great payday recently, hopefully that starts trickling down, and everyone else will start making more money. We all deserve it, all pro athletes, hopefully soon we will see younger fighters be able to make a living off of fighting for the UFC.”
