Robertson got back into the win column with a submission win over Cortney Casey last time. Following the win, many expected the Canadian to get a ranked opponent next, but that wasn’t the case.

Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Anthony Johnson has issued a scathing response to recent middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa. Costa (13-1 MMA) put his undefeated mixed martial arts record on the line while hoping to dethrone middleweight champion Israel Adesanya (20-0 MMA) at last months UFC 253 pay-per-view event on Fight Island.

Jan Blachowicz has a theory as to why Jon Jones vacated his light heavyweight belt and now has a planned move up to heavyweight. At UFC 253, Blachowicz fought and beat Dominick Reyes to win the vacant light heavyweight title. Immediately after the fight, Jones tweeted asking fans if he should go try and reclaim his belt. Yet, for the Pole, he doesn’t think “Bones” has any interest in fighting him as he knows he would get knocked out.

Dustin Poirier is down to fight Nate Diaz after the Stockton native’s recent comments. After Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier agreed to fight, Diaz was not happy and sent several tweets bashing them while suggesting that he beat them both. For “The Diamond” he doesn’t understand why Diaz thinks he beat him despite the fact they have never actually fought one another.

Fresh off of the 2020 “KO of the Year” contender, middleweight prospect Joaquin Buckley returns at UFC 255 against Jordan Wright. Buckley became an overnight phenomenom after scoring one of the greatest knockouts of all time against Impa Kasanganay at last Saturday’s UFC Fight Island 5 card. After suffering a brutal KO loss to Kevin Holland in his UFC deut back in August, Buckley was a big underdog against the undefeated Kasanganay. But he went in there and scored the upset when he landed an incredible spinning back kick that went viral on the internet.

Conor McGregor has accepted the UFC’s offer to fight Dustin Poirier. Over the last few weeks, McGregor and Poirier had agreed to an exhibition martial arts sparring match for charity. The UFC then stepped in and offered the fight to each other but the Irishman demanded it to be in 2020. Dana White and the UFC brass, meanwhile, made it clear January 23 is the soonest date they could do.

UFC President Dana White says Conor McGregor won’t be fighting in the year 2020, but claims the Irishman could fight in January of the new year. McGregor announced his retirement in June, but has since teased a return to the cage, most recently for a potential fight with Dustin Poirier.

The opening betting odds have been released for the upcoming middleweight bout on Halloween between strikers Anderson Silva and Uriah Hall. Silva and Hall will meet on October 31 in a five-round middleweight main event. The fight features two of the top strikers in the UFC middleweight division going at it, which should bring plenty of eyeballs to the fight despite taking place on Halloween. According to UFC president Dana White, this will be the last fight of Silva’s legendary Hall of Fame career.

Khamzat Chimaev is still without an opponent for his next fight, but Neil Magny is reportedly interested in taking the bout. Chimaev was the breakout UFC star of summer, 2020. The Chechen-Swede first picked up two wins in the span of 10 days on Fight Island in July, defeating John Phillips by first-round submission and Rhys McKee by first-round TKO, then picked up his third win of the season when he knocked out Gerald Meerschaert at UFC Vegas 11, also in the first round.

Petr Yan is set to make his first defense of the UFC bantamweight title opposite Aljamain Sterling in the co-main event of UFC 256. UFC President Dana White announced this exciting news in an interview with Kevin Iole of Yahoo Sports. He also confirmed that Amanda Nunes’ featherweight title defense against Megan Anderson will serve as the card’s main event.

This Saturday’s UFC Fight Island 6 card has lost its originally scheduled co-main event: a heavyweight fight between Cyril Gane and Ante Delija. This bout’s cancelation stems from an issue on Delija’s side of things. According to report from La Sueuer, the Croatian heavyweight was plucked from the matchup due to some lingering contract issues with the PFL, where he used to fight. The UFC was unfortunately unable to find a replacement opponent for Gane.

Buckley was the star of last weekend’s UFC Fight Island 5 card, delivering what is widely considered one of the best knockouts in UFC history at the expense of Impa Kasanganay. This knockout win quickly went viral, reaching far outside the MMA bubble, and evidently made it onto one one of Kanye’s screens.

Former UFC women’s strawweight champion Jessica Andrade wants to make history and move up to 145lbs to fight at featherweight. Andrade formerly competed at 135lbs and 115lbs and this weekend at UFC Fight Island 5, she fights in a third weight class when she makes her UFC women’s flyweight debut against Katlyn Chookagian. With a win over Chookagian, Andrade could potentially be in line to fight UFC women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko sometime in 2021.

In front of his national fans in Busan, The Korean Zombie was able to dispatch of veteran Edgar in less than one round. It was the kind of win that really reminded the masses why TKZ is viewed as such a valid contender in the featherweight division and why it may not be long before he fights for the title once again.
