It’s a highly-anticipated fight given they are 1-1 against each other and they fought just six months ago in January where Poirier scored a second-round TKO.

Dustin Poirier believes he will finish Conor McGregor again at UFC 264, but this time will do so by submission. Back at UFC 257 in January on Fight Island, Poirier scored a second-round TKO over McGregor, and immediately after the fight, they agreed to do a trilogy. The trilogy match will happen on Saturday night at UFC 264 and “The Diamond” is confident he will get his hand raised and says he sees himself submitting the Irishman.

UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira is predicting that promotional superstar Conor McGregor will KO Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. Oliveira will be a special guest in attendance at this Saturday’s blockbuster pay-per-view event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ahead of this weekend’s huge match, “Do Bronx” was asked who he believes will win the main event of UFC 264. Although most fans and media seem to think it’s a close fight that could go either way, the Brazilian champion is confident that he knows who is going to get his hand raised on Saturday night.

The official weigh-ins for UFC 264 took place on Friday in Las Vegas, Nevada, and 25 of the 26 fighters scheduled to compete made weight. The main event of UFC 264 features the trilogy fight between lightweights Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. Both men stepped onto the scale and successfully made weight, with each man standing on the scale at 156lbs. The UFC 264 main event is now official. It’s also worth noting that backup fighter Rafael dos Anjos also made weight, coming in at 156lbs.

Stephen Thompson knows he’s a bad matchup for the current welterweight champ, Kamaru Usman. Thompson is set to face Gilbert Burns in the co-main event of UFC 264. If he wins, he could very well get a title shot due to the fact he’s the only fighter in the top-five that Usman hasn’t fought. Former UFC light heavyweight contender Antonio Rogerio Nogueira is interested in continuing his combat sports career in the boxing ring. Nogueira, better known as “Lil Nog,” retired following a split decision loss to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua on Fight Island last summer. Now 45 years old, the Brazilian is interested in continuing his combat sports career and he is interested in trying his hand at boxing. His brother, UFC Hall of Famer Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, spoke to AG Fight and revealed that “Lil Nog” is very much open to continuing his combat sports career in the world of boxing.

UFC president Dana White shared his picks for the most overlooked fights heading into this Saturday’s blockbuster UFC 264 pay-per-view card. The main event of UFC 264 is a trilogy fight between rivals Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier. This is the fight that all the fans can’t wait to see, but there are also 12 other fights on the card, and some of them are getting lost in the shuffle. Taking to his social media, White told fans about two fights that he thinks are being overlooked ahead of UFC 264.

Top prospect Khamzat Chimaev is set to make his return to the Octagon when he fights Li Jingliang in a welterweight bout set for UFC 267. Raphael Marinho of Combate reported the Chimaev vs. Jingliang matchup for UFC 267, which is set to take place on October 30 in Abu Dhabi. According to the scribe, the matchup between Chimaev and Jingliang has been agreed to and all that’s left are for the contracts to be signed. But at this point, it looks like this is the fight the UFC wants.

Conor McGregor believes Dustin Poirier’s TKO win over him was a fluke. Back in January on Fight Island in the main event of UFC 257, McGregor made his return to the Octagon in a rematch against Poirier. In the lead-up to the fight, the Irishman was a big favorite and many expect him to get another early KO win. However, that was far from the case as it was Poirier who had a good game plan and got a second-round TKO victory.

From start to finish, McGregor picked apart Alvarez and dropped him several times en route to a TKO win to become the lightweight champ. It was a dominant performance from the Irishman and ahead of his trilogy match at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier, he’s promising a better one.

Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder will no longer be having their trilogy fight on July 24. Fury was supposed to fight Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight unification fight. However, an arbitrator ruled Wilder was owed the third fight so it was quickly booked to happen on July 24 in Las Vegas. As the bout got closer, it began getting more hyped up but it will not happen. It was reported on Thursday that the fight was likely to be postponed after a COVID-19 outbreak in Fury’s camp. Now, boxing journalist, Dan Rafael reports Fury was one of many who tested positive and the fight has been postponed.

It’s a pivotal matchup where Dana White has promised the winner the next title shot. McGregor has made it clear that he’s planning on a devastating KO over Poirier that would set up a scrap against Charles Oliveira.

Former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos fired back after Conor McGregor said to put him in the cage against him at UFC 264. There are reports emerging from Las Vegas which suggest that dos Anjos is the backup fighter for the UFC 264 main event between McGregor and Dustin Poirier. The UFC hasn’t officially tabbed dos Anjos as the backup fighter, but people in Las Vegas have seen him at the fighter hotel cutting weight just in case something happens to either McGregor or Poirier ahead of Saturday’s pay-per-view card. In the event that the unthinkable happens and one of these two men falls off the card, the UFC will have dos Anjos step in and fight.

Poirier is set to headline UFC 264 in a highly-anticipated trilogy bout against Conor McGregor. It’s a massive fight for both men and in the lead-up to the scrap, “The Diamond” asked if it could take place at welterweight. He wanted the trilogy to take place at three different weight classes but for Daru, that is also due to the fact Poirier is a big lightweight that does cut a lot of weight.

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad says rival Leon Edwards “played it a little bit safe” against Nate Diaz and once again asked for the rematch. Muhammad and Edwards fought back in March to a No Contest after Edwards accidentally poked Muhammad in the eye early in the second round, rendering him unable to continue. As the Muhammad vs. Edwards fight was a replacement bout in its own right, the UFC decided not to match these two up again despite the inconclusive way the fight ended. Instead, the UFC booked Muhammad against Demian Maia at UFC 263 and Edwards against Nate Diaz on the same card, and both men would go onto win their fights that night.

UFC welterweight fighter Niko Price says he quit smoking weed after being suspended following his fight against Donald Cerrone last year. Price tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his draw with Donald Cerrone last September. The result of the bout was overturned to a No Contest and Price was fined and suspended for six months after the commission found traces of THC in his drug test. This was the second time in Price’s career that he was sanctioned for his marijuana use. Back in 2017, Price knocked out Alex Morono in his UFC debut but the result of the fight was overturned to a No Contest after he tested positive for marijuana. After being hit hard in the pocketbook twice for smoking up, Price says that he’s done with smoking weed now.
