Chase Hooper plans to "bring in a weird style" for fight with Felipe Colares at UFC Vegas 55

Chase Hooper didn’t want to be off for nearly a year but believes in the long run it will benefit him. Hooper last fought back at UFC 263 in June of 2021, where he lost a decision to Steven Peterson to drop him to 2-2 in the UFC. After the setback, he wanted to return before the end of the year but nothing came to fruition. Now, at UFC Vegas 55 on May 21, he will return to the Octagon to take on Felipe Colares.

Ion Cutelaba has issued an apology for his loss to Ryan Spann at UFC Vegas 54. It was last Saturday, May 14th at UFC Vegas 54 that Ion Cutelaba (16-7 MMA) fought Ryan Spann (20-7 MMA) in the light heavyweight co-main event. Cutelaba came out swinging hard, but Spann caught him off balance and out of position, locking him in a guillotine choke in round 1 for the win.

Jan Blachowicz has confirmed he will undergo small surgery to repair damage done to his eye on Saturday night. At UFC Vegas 54, Jan Blachowicz managed to defeat Aleksandar Rakic after the Austrian star went down with a nasty knee injury in the early stages of the third round. While Rakic certainly had his moments, many believe the man behind ‘Polish Power’ performed admirably and has earned his right to receive a rematch for the UFC light heavyweight title.

The alleged shooting victim of Cain Velasquez has spoken out for the first time after the former fighter was denied bail. Back in February, 64-year-old Paul Bender was the driver of a Chevy Silverado that police say Velasquez rammed with his car and shot at during a high-speed chase. The belief is that the intended target was Harry Goularte, who has been accused of molesting Cain’s young son.

With the interim welterweight strap on the line, the fight went the distance. After five rounds, Storley earned the victory via split-decision. However, it didn’t come without controversy.

Tony Ferguson was closer to retiring than some may think. On the main card of UFC 274, Ferguson was looking to snap his three-fight losing streak when he took on Michael Chandler. ‘El Cucuy’ said he was looking to prove he is still a top contender and in order to do that, he needed to beat ‘Iron’. Unfortnately for Ferguson, the result did not go his way as he was knocked out in the second round, but in the first round, he had some success and says that is what is keeping him going.

Former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier is tired of waiting around to fight. ‘The Diamond’ recently confirmed that he’s signed on to fight Nate Diaz twice this calendar year, but so far nothing has been booked. Poirier has been out of action since December 2021, a loss to Charles Oliveira. Following the defeat, he was quickly linked to a fight with fellow star Nate Diaz. Both men agreed to the fight multiple times on Twitter.

He said he didn’t want to allow Covington to make any money by fighting him. Now, however, it appears he has an interest in the bout as he tweeted at ‘Chaos’ saying he accepts the challenge.

Cain Velasquez has spent the last three months behind bars after he allegedly got into a high speed chase and shot at Harry Goularte, a man accused of molesting a four year old relative of the fighter. While the shot missed Goularte, bullets struck his stepfather instead.
