Jake Paul continued his rise in the boxing world with a violent KO win over Tyron Woodley on Saturday in Tampa, Florida. Paul was originally supposed to fight Tommy Fury but the Brit was forced out of the fight due to an injury. On less than two weeks’ notice, Woodley stepped in, and early on he had some success. It was a lackluster fight but in the end, it was Paul winning by sixth-round KO.

Diaz and McGregor of course have a long and storied history having fought two times in the past at UFC 196 and UFC 202. In the pairs first encounter, ‘The Stockton Native’ weathered an early storm from the Irishman before turning tide and putting Conor away with a rear-naked choke in round two.

Yesterday, Diaz (20-13 MMA) revealed that the UFC had recently offered him a bout with Chimaev to serve as the final fight of his current contract. Nate was insulted with the UFC’s decision to offer him a “rookie” and voiced his displeasure with TMZ Sports.

Diaz (20-13 MMA) has one fight left on his current contract with the UFC and has not yet come to terms with the organization on any form of extension. With that being said, the ‘Stockton Slugger’ is eager to get back in the Octagon and has expressed interest in multiple opponents.

Since making his promotional debut on Fight Island in July 2020, Chimaev has had four fights and has won all four of them by stoppage, absorbing an incredible one significant strikes in four fights. What “Borz” has been doing has been incredible to watch, and there are many fans and media who believe he could be in line to get a title shot at 170lbs in 2022. But before he gets the title shot, the UFC wants him to fight at least once more, preferably against Diaz.

Despite showing interest in potential showdowns with Vicente Luque and Tony Ferguson, the UFC allegedly approached the ‘Stockton Slugger’ with the idea of fighting Khamzat Chimaev.

Former UFC welterweight Ben Askren called out Nate Diaz for a UFC fight, saying he “would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.” Askren retired from the UFC after losing to Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia citing lingering injury issues. Following his retirement, Askren returned to combat sports in boxing, having been knocked out by Jake Paul earlier this year. Since then, we have not heard much from Askren in regards to fighting again. But it appears as though “Funky” is interested in a return to combat sports, only this time in the UFC, and he has a specific opponent in mind.

UFC welterweight contender Khamzat Chimaev took to his social media to issue fiery callouts of both Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. Chimaev is one of the UFC’s biggest and brightest young stars heading into 2022. In his last fight at UFC 267, Chimaev smashed Li Jingliang in the first round in what was an absolutely incredible performance. It was a great win for Chimaev, and there are some fans and media who now believe that he could fight for the title with just one more win. He is already 4-0 in the UFC and has looked absolutely amazing, so there is reason to believe that this is a fighter who has all the makings of someone who could be a champ one day.
