This week, UFC President Dana White revealed in an interview that the UFC had offered Nate Diaz a fight, however they hadn’t heard anything back from the Stockton, California superstar.

“We just offered Nate Diaz a fight, and we’re waiting to hear back from him, so we’ll see. These guys say they want a fight – I offered Nick Diaz two fights. He turned down two fights. I offered him Robbie Lawler. Robbie Lawler accepted the fight. Then I offered him Demian Maia. Nick Diaz turned down two fights. And then we just offered Nate a fight.”

While there had been no official word on the matter, reports began to surface indicating that Diaz had been offered a UFC 211 fight with former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez. While there was still no official word on the bout, a recent Instagram post from Eddie Alvarez corroborated the report, as the former champ hinted that he had accepted a fight.

Now, Nate Diaz has taken to social media to give a brief reaction to the rumored bout with a statement that appears to be a diss aimed at Alvarez. Read Nate Diaz statement below:

The Tweet is likely in reference to Alvarez’ UFC 205 scrap with Conor McGregor, in which Alvarez was repeatedly dropped over the course of the one-sided two round affair before the referee finally stepped in and stopped the fight.

Diaz has been absent from the Octagon since his UFC 202 scrap with McGregor, where he lost a majority decision after 5 hard fought rounds. Since the bout, Diaz has indicated his desire to make the jump to boxing, and ultimately get out of MMA. With that being said, if reports are indeed accurate, fight fans could see Diaz in the Octagon sooner rather than later.
