OK OK I did it! When I was in my hotel room in Sacramento, I didn’t have time to workout so I did a quick workout in my room. I warmed up with that Juju beat. You can really break a sweat doing these dances 😅😅😅 #dontlaughatmyfacialexpressions #jujuonthatbeat #ufcsacramento I’ll be uploading the vlog about my time in Sacramento this week! Keep an eye out for it!
“12 Gauge” Paige VanZant is not only a tremendously talented fighter, she’s also the best dancer on the UFC roster. The Team Alpha Male student flaunted her dancing chops on the most recent season of Dancing With Stars, during which she and partner Mark Ballas closed out a memorable run by becoming the season’s runners up.
As it turns out, however, VanZant’s upcoming opponent Michelle Waterson – nicknamed “The Karate Hottie” – is also a killer on the dance floor. Waterson showcased her dance moves in a recent post to Instagram, which showed her busting a move to Zay Hilfigerrr and Zayion McCall’s Juju On that Beat. As Waterson explains in her post, dancing is a great way to get warmed up for a workout. You can watch Waterson’s routine at the top of this post.
Waterson and VanZant will headline UFC on Fox 22, which will emanate from Sacramento, California on December 17.
Waterson will enter this bout on the heels of a lengthy layoff, having not competed since she choked Angela Magana in her UFC debut in July of 2015. Prior to that win, she had her reign as Invicta FC atomweight champ ended by a Herica Tiburcio guillotine at Invicta FC 10. The long-time Greg Jackson is student is 13-4 overall.
VanZant, meanwhile, was last seen in action when she rebounded from a bloody walloping at the hands of Rose Namajunas with an epic, flying switch kick KO of Bec Rawlings. The 22-year-old contender is 7-2 overall.
The UFC’s upcoming trip to Sacramento will also feature the final fight of Urijah Faber’s illustrious career. “The California Kid” will perform this swan song opposite England’s Brad Pickett. Other highlights of the card include a bout between young prospects Sage Northcutt and Mickey Gall, and a welterweight scrap between fan favorites Alan Jouban and “Platinum” Mike Perry.
