Despite losing by a brutal knee that fractured his skull, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos will be getting his win bonus, as well as his medical bills paid for by Bellator MMA.

Santos suffered a devastating KO loss from a vicious flying knee delivered by Michael “Venom” Page at Bellator 158 over the weekend. However, Bellator MMA President Scott Coker said that they will be supporting Santos financially in his recovery.

“I’ve been a huge fan of ‘Cyborg’ throughout the many years that he has fought for us,” Coker stated to MMAjunkie. “The guy brings it every single time out, and that’s all you can ask for from a fighter. That being said, you never want to see a fighter sustain an injury like that.

“Bellator representatives have been present with him at the hospital throughout this process, and we are taking care of any medical bills that he incurs. In addition, we are going to go ahead and pay ‘Cyborg’ his win bonus to help him find a little extra comfort throughout his recovery process, which we hope is a speedy one.”

In addition to Bellator’s contribution to Santos’ hospital bills, both Page and Santos’ ex-wife Cris “Cyborg” Justino, have asked for support through a gofundme page.
