Bantamweight champ Dominck Cruz knows who Michael “Mayday” McDonald is. All champs know who the ‘up and comers’ are and more importantly, the ones who are in striking distance of a title shot. Michael “Mayday” McDonald is that man that Cruz will one day face, title or no title depending on the outcome of a “potential” Faber vs Cruz rubber-match that needs to be made.
I’m not saying give the #6 guy a title shot in June or anything, it’s not some big rumor that McDonald didn’t perform like the “Mayday” we know he’s capable of performing. He tells Frank Trigg after his UFC 195 victory, the good, the bad and the ugly about his performance at his last outing.
