Georges St-Pierre: Michael Bisping embarrassed himself every time he opened his mouth

By Tom Taylor - March 7, 2017

Though the date and location of the fight remain a mystery, we now know that former welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre‘s comeback fight will pit him against UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping.

Shortly after this massive – and polarizing – fight was announced, the UFC sat St-Pierre and Bisping down beside each other at a press conference in Las Vegas. During this press conference, St-Pierre was his typical, civil self, while Bisping opted to turn up the trash talk in an attempt to get into his foe’s head.

Apparently, however, Bisping’s trash talk had little effect on St-Pierre. Instead, St-Pierre has suggested that this trash talk only served to backfire and make Bisping look bad. The former welterweight champ explained this feeling on the latest episode of The MMA Hour ( via MMAFighting.com).

“You know, there are a lot of guys who are very good trash talkers in this game. Conor McGregor is one, Chael Sonnen is one, he’s an expert. And I always feel like I cannot get into a war of words with these guys, because first, English is not my first language, and I’m just not good at trash talking. I do my talking in the fight. I’m not a good talker, I’m a good fighter.”

“But what I can say is this: I do not believe Michael Bisping is a good trash talker,” St-Pierre continued. “I believe the best thing he did for me was to talk, because he embarrassed himself every time he opened his mouth. So he did the job for me. I didn’t even have to say anything.”

Many of Bisping’s previous opponents, such as Luke Rockhold and Anderson Silva, of course, would probably disagree with this claim from St-Pierre, having felt the full force of the Brit’s trash talk.

Do you agree with Georges St-Pierre on this one, or do you consider Michael Bisping a good trash talker? Sound off, PENN Nation!
