We have come a long way in the mixed martial arts game where we don’t see as many discipline versus discipline type matches. However, there are still a few glimpses of them that come up from time to time as the sport is still expanding and people want to have a crack at MMA competition.

Here, we take a look at five-time World’s Strongest Man champion Mariusz Pudzianowski take on Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and former UFC heavyweight Rolles Gracie. The two met in the cage in Gdansk, Poland at the KSW 31 event back in May of last year.

According to Craziest Sports Fights, Pudzianowski retired from the Strongest Man competitions back in 2009 and took on a new challenge in mixed martial arts winning his first two matches. Pudzianowski would lose for the first time to former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia at the Moosin – God of Martial Arts event back in 2010 where Sylvia was able to submit the muscled fighter with an armbar.

Since starting his professional MMA career, Pudzianowski has racked up quite a few fights holding a 9-5 record. The former Strongest Man champion last fought in May, losing by submission in the second round to Marcin Rozalski at KSW 35. The loss to Rozalski was the first time Pudzianowski lost two fights in a row as he was defeated in his prior bout by TKO against Peter Graham at KSW 32 in October of 2015. Pudzianowski holds wins over some established names such as Bob Sapp, Sean McCorkle, Oli Thompson, and Rolles Gracie.

Gracie has fought in the UFC, IFL, ONE FC and WSOF, holding a 8-4 record. Before going on a three-fight losing streak in his last three fights, Gracie was a roll with eight wins and the only loss coming against Joey Beltran at UFC 109 in 2010. The fight against Pudzianowski was the last professional MMA fight Gracie has had and ended by way of TKO.

With wins and losses simply being a part of competition, you have got to hand it to these athletes for stepping up and putting it all on the line!

Mariusz Pudzianowski is set to fight again on December 3 against Pawel Mikolajuw at KSW 37 and will surely be looking to rack up another big win.
