Sean Brady vs. Kelvin Gastelum slated for UFC fight night event in December

A welterweight bout between Sean Brady and Kelvin Gastelum is in the works for a UFC fight night event in December. It has been confirmed that the welterweight bout between Sean Brady (15-1 MMA) and Kelvin Gastelum (18-8 MMA) will take place on Saturday, December 2nd at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dana White announces Shavkat Rakhmonov vs. Kelvin Gastelum for co-main event of UFC Mexican Independence Day card

Shavkat Rakhmonov will be returning to the Octagon in September. Dana White took to social media to announce the UFC is holding a Mexican Independence Day card on September 16th at the T-Mobile Arena and Rakhmonov will take on Kelvin Gastelum in the co-main event. The main event of the card sees Alexa Grasso defending her flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko in a rematch.

Kelvin Gastelum is ready to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov next time out. After Gastelum announced he would be making the move to welterweight, Rakhmonov quickly called him out on social media. Although Gastelum did not immediately respond as he was on vacation, the TUF 17 winner has said he wants that fight and hopes it can happen on the Mexican Independence card on September 16.

In that outing, Gastelum earned a badly needed unanimous decision victory over Chris Curtis. For their performances, the two received the ‘Performance of the Night’ award. Weeks following the victory, he announced his plans to drop back down to the welterweight division.

In that outing, the two middleweights put on a show in the three-round contest. After 15 minutes of action, it was Gastelum who halted ‘The Action Man’, winning by unanimous decision.

Kelvin Gastelum to work with Dana White's nutritionist and make a return to welterweight

Kelvin Gastelum will be returning to his old stomping grounds. Gastelum did an interview with ESPN Deportes and revealed he has told the UFC he is planning on dropping back down to welterweight. The plan is to have his return fight in September, and the UFC was on board with the plan. Along with that, Gastelum will be working with Dana White’s nutritionist, he revealed.

The result was a unanimous decision win for the 31-year-old Gastelum. The Saturday night fight also awarded Gastelum and Curtis ‘Fight of the Night’ honors.
