UFC featherweight Max Holloway doesn’t believe himself or Alexander Volkanovski is the greatest featherweight ever. ‘Blessed’ is set to collide with ‘The Great’ this Saturday at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. It’ll be the third time they’ve clashed, as they had two prior fights in 2019 and 2020. Both bouts were won by Volkanovski by decision, in razor-thin contests considered some of the best of the year.

Marlon Vera is riding high after his sensational performance against Rob Font at UFC Vegas 53. “Chito” Vera and Font collided inside the UFC Apex for the event’s headliner. Font looked smooth in the early going but Vera was simply figuring out what he was dealing with. It didn’t take long for Vera to find his groove and he had Font hurting throughout the fight.

Jose Aldo has told Aljamain Sterling to sign the contract. After Sterling defeated Petr Yan to defend his bantamweight title back at UFC 273, he called out TJ Dillashaw but shortly after, he began to walk back on that callout. He then said Aldo was the most deserving contender and now the Brazilian has told the champ to sign the contract for their fight.

Dominick Cruz seemingly has an idea for a return to the cage, thanks in part to Petr Yan. ‘The Dominator’ would like to face former UFC featherweight champion, Jose Aldo. In December, following Cruz’s victory over Pedro Munhoz, ‘No Mercy’ suggested that the former champion face Jose Aldo. The Brazilian moved down to 135-pounds in 2019 after a stint at featherweight that saw him claim WEC and UFC gold. Aldo is now currently riding a three-fight winning streak after losing to Yan at UFC 251.

TJ Dillashaw isn’t interested in fighting Jose Aldo. After Aldo defeated Rob Font in the main event fight back in December, he called out Dillashaw for a number one contender bout. On paper, it made sense as Aljamain Sterling and Petr Yan are not having their title unification bout until April. However, for Dillashaw, he says he won’t be ready until the summer due to the knee injury he sustained in his win over Cory Sandhagen.

On Saturday night at UFC Vegas 44, Aldo punched his ticket to a No. 1 contender fight at 135lbs as he smashed Font in a lopsided unanimous decision victory. It was an incredible victory by Aldo, who once again showed that Father Time stops for him. At age 35, Aldo continues to add to his legacy, and with Pederneiras in his corner every time, too.

Aldo earned a unanimous decision victory by landing the bigger shots against Font and also controlling him for longer periods of time on the ground and moving into several dominant positions when he was on the mat. For Aldo, it was his third straight victory at 135lbs following previous victories in the division over Pedro Munhoz and Marlon Vera. At age 35, Aldo is once again looking like a legitimate title contender. Indeed, he believes that he can make one more title run in the UFC bantamweight division despite his advanced age.

Aldo defeated Font via unanimous decision in what was a great fight that served as the UFC Vegas 44 main event. Although Font outstruck Aldo in terms of significant strikes, Aldo dropped Font twice and he also had more control on the ground. In the end, the judges saw the fight unanimously for Aldo with 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46 scorecards. It was the biggest win of Aldo’s UFC bantamweight career thus far as he improved to 3-2 overall in the weight class. After losing fights to Marlon Moraes and Petr Yan to open up his 135lbs run, Aldo is now on a three-fight win streak over Font, Pedro Munhoz, and Marlon Vera.

The highly anticipated bantamweight main event proved to be a thrilling five round war. Rob Font was seemingly able to get off the better volume of punches throughout the fight, but it was the powerful kicks and right hands of ‘The King of Rio’ that proved to be the difference. Jose Aldo was able to drop the American on multiple occasions during the contest, cruising to a unanimous decision win.
