EXCLUSIVE | Jorge Masvidal destroys Kelvin Gastelum and Charles Oliveira for not making weight

By Chris Taylor - November 11, 2016

Earlier today news broke that former TUF winner Kelvin Gastelum had missed weight for his scheduled UFC 205 fight with Donald Cerrone, forcing the promotion to scrap the bout entirely from tomorrow night’s historic card in New York.

Following the news, UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal took to Twitter where he offered to fight “Cowboy” on short-notice.

Unfortunately for fight fans hoping to see “Cowboy” in action tomorrow, the UFC did not take “Gamebred” up on his offer and instead rescheduled Cerrone to fight Matt Brown at next month’s UFC 206 event in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Masvidal was initially scheduled to fight Gastelum earlier this month at the ‘TUF Latin America 3 Finale’ event in Mexico City. However, UFC officials opted to pull Kelvin from that contest in order to have him fight Cerrone at UFC 205 instead.

“Gamebred” spoke to Chris Taylor on today’s episode of BJPENN.com’s Rapid Fire where he went off on both Kelvin Gastelum and Charles Oliveira for missing weight.

“I used to cut a tremendous amount of weight cutting to 155-pounds. It got to a point where I was like man I can’t perform the way I want when cutting this amount of weight. With that said I never missed weight even then. If I did miss weight I would come back to the scales a second-time 45-minutes later and do whatever I had to do in order to make the mark. I was never off by more than a pound and when I was a bit over on my first attempt it was because I timed it wrong. But I always ended up making weight in the end now matter how much I had to struggle. So that stuff with them missing weight I just can’t cope with. When you miss by eight-pounds, that is hoe-status. Because on the contract, the one that you signed as a man, you stated that you would make weight. That Charles Oliveira dude is nothing but a punk. That guy came in ten pounds over weight! These Brazilian dudes have been terrible. That isn’t man shit. We both agreed to make this weight so suffer through it. You have to do it because it is not the same and changes the playing field. If you’re ten pounds over weight that means the day of the fight you are going to be weighing 25-pounds plus. That on top of the fact that you didn’t have to run through that desert to make weight. So I just think it is a ‘hoe move’ from Gastelum. You can miss by a pound or two because people get sick and that shit can happen. But when you miss by eight-pounds? That is not even unprofessional that is just hoe-status bro. Those are losers who could give birth because they are bitches!”
