Former UFC light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones has been away from the Octagon for quite some time.

After being slated to fight Daniel Cormier in a highly anticipated rematch for the UFC light heavyweight championship in the main event of UFC 200, all signs pointed to Jones making his return to the Octagon on July 9th. Unfortunately, ‘Bones’ was pulled from the card just two days before the event when it was revealed that he had failed a random out-of-competition drug test back in June.

Jones has maintained his innocence throughout the entire USADA appeal process. Recently, UFC President Dana White revealed that Jones appeal process has been going surprisingly well. In addition, Jones revealed via a social media video that fans could see him return to the Octagon sooner rather than later.

Jones has slowly began to get more and more active on social media again, leading many fans to wonder if his return to the Octagon could be happening sooner than fans anticipated.

To add fuel to the fire, Dana White stated recently that he would like to see Jones and Anthony Johnson fight for the interim light heavyweight championship, with the winner fighting Daniel Cormier.

In the social media post below you can see Jones post-workout along with a caption in which he thanks fans for their support through “the thick and thin”.
