Jon Jones appears in court for traffic tickets

By bjpenndotcom - April 5, 2016

Last month UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones was given 5 traffic citations. Among them was a ticket for drag racing, something Jones has maintained he was falsely accused of.

A video from Officer Jason Brown’s body camera was released, showing Jones and the officer engaging in an aggressive verbal battle that saw Jones repeatedly maintain his innocence.

According to MMAFighting, Jones appeared in court Tuesday morning for his arraignment, where he plead not guilty to the charges. The pound for pound kingpin will now get to focus on his UFC 197 light heavyweight interim title fight against Ovince Saint Preux on April 23rd.

Jones will next appear in court for his trial on May 11th.

Jones attorney Nancy Hollander stated at the hearing:

“We intend to fight these traffic violations. We believe that they’re bogus. We believe that he was profiled.”
