Earlier this year, boxing legend Floyd Mayweather had plans to sign UFC pound for pound kingpin Jon Jones to ‘The Money Team’ ahead of his UFC 200 fight against Daniel Cormier.

Mayweather flew out to New Mexico to meet with Jones to discuss the possibility of working together. Understandably so, the MMA community went wild theorizing about two of the greatest combat sports athletes teaming up.

Now, with less than a week to go until his showdown with Daniel Cormier, Jones still hasn’t heard back from Mayweather. The interim light heavyweight champion spoke to TMZ to discuss the situation:

“Floyd Mayweather called me and we had a nice long conversation about doing some things together and I haven’t heard from his since. Floyd … c’mon man, give me a call! I would love to work with Floyd Mayweather. I really respect a lot of the things he’s been able to do in business and he’s unarguably the most successful combatant who’s ever done it, so being in line with a great champion like him would be awesome.”
