UFC Singapore Results: Holly Holm vs. Bethe Correia

A key women’s bantamweight scrap between former division champion Holly Holm and former title challenger Bethe Correia served as the main event of today’s UFC Fight Night 111 card in Singapore.

Round one begins and Holm starts off quickly. Bethe misses with an early low kick. Holly is utilizing a lot of movement trying to find her way inside. Holm with a side kick to the body and then another. Bethe is backed up against the fence but fires off a leg kick that lands. She misses with a follow up left hand. Holm with another side kick. Bethe responds with a low kick. Both women seem very tentative early. Just as I say that Holly lands a hard kick to the body of Correia. Holm steps in and lands a left hand but Bethe is able to counter with a right of her own. Correia smiles at Holly after that exchange. Holm fires off another side kick. She misses with a high kick as round one comes to an end.

Round two begins and Bethe misses with an attempted right hook. Holly faints with a low kick and then circles out. Holm with a kick to the body. She misses with a left. Holly circles and then comes in with a low kick. She lands another and circles out. Bethe responds with a left leg kick of her own. Correia leaps in a lands a right hand. Holly fires back with a high kick that just misses. Another side kick lands for Holly. The crowd is growing restless now as boos fill the stadium. The referee steps in and tells the fighters to make something happen. That message seemed to work as both ladies proceed to fire off spinning back fist attempts. Holly lands a kick to the body and Bethe replies with a right hand. Correia shoots in and grabs a hold of Holly. She presses her against the fence and round two comes to an end.

Round three begins and Holly fires off a kick to the body of the Brazilian followed by a left hand. Bethe misses with a counter right hand. Correia motions for Holly to come in. She does with a head kick and this one is all over! WOW!!!
