Both fans and athletes have been very polar on Phil Brooks, better known as the former WWE star, CM Punk, getting his first professional mixed martial arts fight in the UFC. There have been many hating on the fact that CM Punk was able to fight for the biggest mixed martial arts promotion in the world for his first fight on account of his success and stardom from professional wrestling. Then on the opposite end of the spectrum, there are those that have welcomed the former WWE star to the Octagon knowing it would bring new fans over to the sport of mixed martial arts.
