Joe Lauzon vs. Donald Cerrone re-booked for June 18th UFC Fight Night

UFC lightweights Joe Lauzon and Donald Cerrone will hopefully square off after all. The two bonus kings have been scheduled to clash on a UFC Fight Night next month. This is the second time that the two men have been booked. Lauzon and Cerrone were previously scheduled to square off at UFC 274 last Saturday. Hours before the fight, the bout was canceled due to Cowboy having food poisoning.

Donald Cerrone has outlined his retirement plans after being forced out of UFC 274. It was to be Cerrone (36-16 MMA) vs Joe Lauzon (28-15 MMA) at UFC 274 last Saturday night at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately for Cerrone, he contracted food poisoning the night before his lightweight fight and had to withdraw from the card.

Tonight’s UFC 274 fight card has taken a last minute hit as Donald Cerrone was forced to withdraw from his bout with Joe Lauzon. Cerrone (36-16 MMA) was slated to open up tonight’s pay-per-view main card against fellow veteran Lauzon (28-15 MMA). Unfortunately for fight fans, ‘Cowboy’ suffered a fight-day illness and was forced to pullout of the fight. UFC officials announced the news during this afternoon’s prelim broadcast.

Giagos was rocked by punches from Soriano in the first round but managed to compose himself and make it to the second round, where his grappling skills took over and he got the finish. UFC welterweight legend Donald Cerrone reacted to his first-round TKO loss against Alex Morono at Saturday night’s UFC Vegas 26 event. Cerrone suffered his fifth loss in his last six fights after getting stopped with punches by Morono in the first round of Saturday’s co-main event. Morono took the fight on short notice after Diego Sanchez was pulled from the card, but as he told BJPenn.com’s Cole Shelton earlier in the week, he was in training alongside Fortis MMA fighters Diego Ferreira and Geoff Neal for this particular card. Morono was clearly in fight shape and ready to go as he came out storming from the opening bell and stopped Cerrone with punches in the first.
