This past Saturday, UFC veteran Donald Cerrone stepped into the Octagon to fight welterweight Rick Story in what was the final fight of his UFC contract. After putting on arguably the best performance of his career, Cerrone stated that he planned on re-signing with the promotion.

Now, news has surfaced via MMAJunkie that Cerrone has officially signed an 8-fight deal with the UFC, and according to Brett Okamoto is “ready to continue success” with the promotion.

Immediately following his flawless KO win over Rick Story, UFC President Dana White had nothing but praise for Cerrone, who he stated looked even better at welterweight than he does at lightweight.

While there is no word yet on when Cerrone will return to the Octagon, knowing ‘Cowboy’, it will be sooner rather than later.
