Darren Till Just Wants to Fight Again, Ready for Anyone in the Top 10, “F*** Them All”

By Drake Riggs - March 15, 2018

A star from Liverpool, England emerged from the darkness on the fateful night of October 21, 2017. It was Darren Till’s very first UFC main event and he passed his test with flying colors when he absolutely dismantled the legendary, Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in just one round.

Till turned into an immediate name to keep an eye on and launched himself from the likes of the unranked to the top 10.

But we haven’t seen him since. After the sensational breakthrough performance, Till appeared to be getting matched with two-time title challenger, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson in London. That clearly never happened and now we’ve had no word on what’s next for either man since.

“It was a thing, it could have happened, but obviously some things got in the way.” Till told MMAFighting, “At the time, Wonderboy and his team didn’t feel like I had earned the fight so they declined. At the moment it does seem like none of us [welterweights] are getting booked. The welterweight division is on hold now basically. I don’t really know what’s going on. I’m training every day and I’m just waiting to get booked at the moment.”

Recently, Till did hint at his next fight being announced soon and hinted at it being Wonderboy but we have yet to receive any sort of confirmation on the potential high-level striking affair. Till just wants to fight and wants a fight soon.

“I’ll fight anyone, anywhere, but at the moment I haven’t been offered anything. In an ideal situation, I would love to fight in America. It would be my first time fighting in America. I think it should be on a big pay-per-view card or the undercard to a big pay-per-view card. We’ll see what the UFC offer but at the moment they haven’t offered anything. I haven’t turned down any fights, not at all. I would never turn down fights.

It’s gotta happen in the next two weeks. I’ve got to get a call to get a fight. I’m going to London as a guest fighter and it’s an honor to do that, but I’m here, there and everywhere doing interviews and stuff, but I don’t feel like I’m earning it. People are still trying to interview me and they’re still going mad about the Cerrone fight and it’s like, ‘F*cking hell, I was over the Cerrone fight a day after it happened’. I need another fight now to feel like I’ve earned this attention.

I just want to fight again. I’m ready to fight again against anyone, anyone in the top 10, f*ck them all…f*ck everyone.”

Another possible opponent for Till has been Iceland’s Gunnar Nelson who has been vocal about wanting the fight.

Who do you think Till will end up fighting next and when?
