Next weekend the octagon will invade Buffalo, New York for UFC 210.

The pay-per-view event is headlined by a light heavyweight title fight rematch between current division title holder Daniel Cormier and top contender Anthony Johnson.

“DC” and “Rumble” first met at UFC 187 in May of 2015 with Cormier emerging victorious by way of third-round submission (rear naked choke).

The Cormier and Johnson rematch was initially supposed to occur at December’s UFC 206 event in Toronto, but this plan was unfortunately scrapped when “DC” pulled out of the fight with an injury.

Now healthy, Daniel Cormier appears to be in phenomenal shape ahead of his UFC 210 rematch with “Rumble” as Layzie The Savage posted the following photo of the champ on Instagram.

The UFC light heavyweight champion, Daniel Cormier, was last seen inside the octagon at this past July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event, where he scored a unanimous decision victory over former middle kingpin Anderson “The Spider” Silva.

That victory marked Cormier’s third in a row as he had previously scored wins over Alexander Gustafsson and the aforementioned Anthony Johnson.

As for “Rumble”, the UFC’s top light heavyweight contender is coming off a brutal 13-second first-round knockout victory over former title challenger Glover Teixeira in a bout that occurred at UFC 202 this past August in Las Vegas.

The victory marked Johnson’s third straight, as he had previously scored knockout victories over Jimi Manuwa and Ryan Bader.

“Rumble” has now won twelve of his past thirteen contests overall, scoring nine knockout finishes in those twelve victories.

UFC 210 takes place April 8 live from the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York.
