Current UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was not impressed by Jon Jones unanimous decision victory over short-notice replacement Ovince Saint Preux in the main event of UFC 197.

“DC” spoke about Jones performance during the FOX post fight show, stating the following:

“He got the job done,” Cormier said. “A lot of times, most guys, they don’t have their best performance and they lose. They don’t get it done. So it shows how special Jon is. That being said, very disappointed that I didn’t get to compete tonight because I do believe that if he showed up in the form that he did tonight, or if this is the new Jon Jones, there’s no way that guy can beat me.”

The UFC is considering booking the Jones vs. Cormier rematch to headline July’s blockbuster UFC 200 event in Las Vegas.

Do you think the “new” Jon Jones will be able to defeat Daniel Cormier when the pair rematch later this year? Sound off PENN Nation!
