Daniel Cormier trashes Jon Jones’ brother, makes fun of his size

By Tom Taylor - April 10, 2017

On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 210, UFC light heavyweight Daniel Cormier defended his strap with a second-round submission win over Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. Shortly thereafter, the champ took the opportunity to engage in brief verbal battles with two of the light heavyweight division’s top contenders: streaking British striker Jimi Manuwa, and former champion Jon Jones – the only man he’s lost to and by far his biggest rival.

Daniel Cormier trashes Arthur Jones

Apparently, Cormier also exchanged a few words with Jones’ brother, Arthur, a former defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts and current free agent in the NFL. At the UFC 210 post-fight press conference, Cormier addressed this brief exchange with his rival’s brother, and commented on the football players physique.

“What is he talking about,” Cormier said of Arthur Jones. “Like what are you going to do?”

“Arthur is sitting there talking,” he continued. “Like, I’m not even fighting you, what are you going to do? I’m going to fight Jon. Shut up. Like shut up. What are you talking about? Sitting there, frickin’ two chairs. Two chairs to sit in one place… they gave him two chairs. Arthur Jones had two chairs. Just know that. Fuck him.”

At current, it is not known whether Cormier will next defend his title against Manuwa, or against the returning Jones. Jones is currently serving the tail end of a suspension stemming from a failed drug test in July of 2016, which occurred in the buildup to a planned rematch with Cormier. He will be eligible to compete again this July, which makes his rematch with Cormier a likely headliner for July 8’s UFC 213. That said, UFC President Dana White has been reluctant to acknowledge this possibility, so it is hard to say if it actually happens on that date.
