Prior to the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference, UFC welterweight Tyron Woodley had good things to say about UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

In an exclusive interview with BJPenn.com’s Chris Taylor, the welterweight champ opened up on McGregor and his treatment of being matched up in more entertaining fights over defending his featherweight title.

“I mean Conor is an entertainer but he is also a deliverer,” Woodley stated. “People can say what they want. I do not have an issue with Conor.”

That may have all changed at the UFC 205 pre-fight press conference on Thursday in New York. McGregor spoke about all the champion’s belts not being safe after he said he would capture the lightweight title over Eddie Alvarez.

The two ended up having a little exchange during the weigh-ins on Friday and went on to take it to twitter where McGregor called Woodley a “bitch.”

The welterweight champion spoke with MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani and gave some details on their exchange in the locker room of the weigh-ins and also their little twitter episode.

“What had happened is, I had already weighed in, I went to go grab some more water,” Woodley explained to Helwani. “So, I had to go around him to go get the water. So I said, ‘What’s up man’ and I walked past him and he kinda had a mug. So, I turned back and I was like, ‘I said what’s up’ and he was like ‘Wassup.’

“So, I don’t know what people saw on the video but I’m not that guy. Number one, this is fighting but there’s other layers. Where I’m from you can’t call me a bitch. That’s like a slap in the face or a spit in the face where I’m from so you just don’t call a dude a bitch.”
