Throughout the course of the week leading up to UFC 205, UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor and UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley were involved in several backstage ‘altercations’. While no punches were exchanged, the pair were forced to be separated by security on several occasions.

The first incident was a very minor one, and occurred during the UFC 205 press conference on Thursday, setting the stage for several more interactions throughout the remainder of fight week. During the course of the press conference, after McGregor took then-lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez’ title belt, he stated that he was coming for all the belts on the stage, which included Woodley’s welterweight championship.

The second incident took place during the early weigh-ins on Friday morning, when Woodley walked past McGregor, McGregor proceeded to eye him down, resulting in a rather uncomfortable situation, and setting the stage for a Twitter war over the course of the next several hours which resulted in McGregor calling Woodley a “bitch” several times, while ‘The Chosen One’ cautioned McGregor against doing so.

The final encounter was around the time of the ceremonial UFC weigh-ins when the pair came face to face backstage, resulting in security guards being forced to get between the two as McGregor continued to yell at Woodley, calling him a “bitch” once again, despite the champ warning him earlier on Twitter not to do-so.

Following McGregor’s historic win over Alvarez, which saw him crowned the lightweight champion, the first man in UFC history to hold simultaneous championships in two weight classes, both McGregor and Woodley verbally agreed to a fight, with no date being mentioned.

With that being said, the possibility of McGregor moving up to 170 in hopes of becoming the first-ever three division champion has MMA fans talking, including former light heavyweight kingpin Jon Jones.

Jones took to Twitter to give his prediction for the fight:
