Conor McGregor once again shocked the MMA community late on Sunday when he tweeted that he was back on UFC 200.

However, the saga of Conor McGregor and UFC 200 continued on Monday after UFC President Dana White said that “The Notorious” was still off the UFC 200 card.

McGregor’s coach John Kavanagh was a guest on the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday and talked about the latest on the situation.

“It seems to be coming down to, ego is not the right word but I guess standing for a point,” Kavanagh said. “At some stage you have got to see that maybe it is pointless to upset so many fans that want to see this fight and ignore the kind of numbers that are going to be brought in over a press conference. It tends to more or less the same questions every time.

“It’s not the same for Conor having to travel halfway across the world as far as his opponent having to basically go down the road to do these things. There seems to be swinging in the right way and we’re aiming for and training for 200 so I just hope we get some good news.”

While Dana White insists that Conor McGregor will not be fighting at UFC 200, it surely sounds like team McGregor is still hoping that it all happens.
