Former UFC featherweight title contender Chad Mendes was flagged recently for a “potential Anti-Doping Policy violation” by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

The UFC released a statement saying that they were notified of the potential violation by USADA after they collected an out-of-competition sample from Mendes.

Mendes revealed some information on twitter saying, “I didn’t do my homework and that was a big mistake. I own it and I’m going to pay for it.”

More details of Mendes’ case will be released at the appropriate time. USADA will undergo “a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed.”
