Carlos Condit sick with UFC’s Reebok deal: ‘Something needs to be done’

UFC veteran Carlos Condit is very cognizant of the fact that he may not be fighting professionally for much longer, even with his love for the sport.

While previously hinting at retirement, Condit could not get away from the fight game for too long following his title fight loss to the now former champion Robbie Lawler.

Condit is scheduled to face Demian Maia at UFC on FOX 21 to do what he loves but finds himself stuck in a tough situation with the UFC and recent rumblings of a fighter’s union.

“Something needs to be done,” Condit said (transcribed by MMA Mania). “A big part of the Reebok deal, man, our loss in sponsors took away our security. Now we are beholden to living fight to fight and we don’t have that buffer in between in regards to financial security that sponsors gave us. So, we are in a weird place, man.”
