Chael Sonnen “sincerely believes” Brock Lesnar would like to return to MMA

By Tom Taylor - February 28, 2018

Over the weekend, UFC President Dana White shared a picture of himself and former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar on social media. Given that Lesnar’s WWE contract is winding down, this post created immediate speculation that maybe, just maybe, he was plotting a return to the UFC.

Brock Lesnar, Dana White

In the opinion of Chael Sonnen, there is no big secret here. At least, not yet. Sonnen, who is currently embroiled in Bellator’s heavyweight Grand Prix, believes Lesnar and White were probably just meeting as two friends who happened to be in Las Vegas at the same time. That said, Sonnen also believes Lesnar would like to return to the Octagon.

Sonnen broke it down in a quick video clip shared to Twitter.

“Dana did something, he took a photo with Brock, right,” Sonnen said in this video. “Real simple. WWE’s in town, Dana lives in Vegas, Ronda [Rousey’s] going to appear, Dana’s going to show some support, grabs a photo with Brock. Maybe they had dinner, who knows? Then he puts out the photo, and simply captions it with a smiley face emoji. And what does that do? That leads to speculation, which is all we want as fans! Give us some talking points, let us go in 20 different directions even if none of them are the reality. I liked it, I got it, as far as Brock coming back, I don’t think there’s any big secrets here, and I don’t think that Brock knows the answer, or that anyone else does, and they’re keeping it from us, the fans. I do sincerely believe that Brock sincerely would like to come back and do it.”

What do you think of Chael Sonnen’s take on the situation? Will we ever see Brock Lesnar back in the UFC?
