Tuesday afternoon news broke that UFC Hall of Famer BJ Penn’s fight against Dennis Siver at UFC 199 would take place on the televised prelims, as opposed to the Pay-Per View section of the card, as many expected.

According to MMAFighting, Penn vs. Siver will serve as the main event of the preliminary card before Dustin Poirier vs. Bobby Green kicks off the Pay-Per View portion of the card.

Penn gave us a statement regarding his placement on the card, saying:

“I am so happy that everyone from Hilo can watch me fight for free.”

Penn ended his retirement earlier this year after partnering with Greg Jackson and Mike Winkeljohn in hopes of claiming the UFC featherweight championship.

Stay tuned for updates regarding the card!
