One of the most polarizing events on the MMA horizon is the UFC debut of WWE superstar CM Punk. Because Punk has precisely zero background in the martial arts, there are plenty of fans out there who think his UFC 203 bout with Mickey Gall is a publicity stunt that is doomed to fail. Yet there are also plenty of fans out there who respect his courage and desire to test himself.

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, who is a training partner of Punk at Roufusport Mixed Martial Arts in Milwaukee, falls into the latter category.

In a recent video posted to Youtube by Fancy MMA, the former lightweight champ and current featherweight contender weighed in on Punk’s upcoming debut, as well as his own recent bout with Charles Oliveira.

Do you share Pettis’ optimism about Punk’s UFC debut, or do you think the pro wrestler is doomed for an ass kicking? Sound off, PENN nation!
