Anthony Pettis planning drop to featherweight

By bjpenndotcom - June 8, 2016

Former UFC lightweight champion Anthony ‘Showtime’ Pettis has gone through a rough patch in the Octagon. After losing his UFC lightweight championship to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185, Pettis dropped back to back decisions to Eddie Alvarez and most recently Edson Barboza.

Given the 3-fight losing streak, Pettis feels as though it’s time for a change. ‘Showtime’ took to Instagram to reveal that he is still training at the JacksonWinkeljohn MMA Academy in Albuquerque New Mexico, and is in the process of dropping down to featherweight.

In addition, MMAFighting has confirmed with Pettis’ manager that he is looking to make his featherweight debut in August.
