Andrei Alrovski confident he can persuade UFC to let him fight Fedor Emelianenko

Since Fedor Emelianenko made his triumphant return to MMA on New Years Eve many fighters across various promotions have been hoping for a crack at ‘The Last Emperor’.

While Rizin Fighting Federation would ideally like to see either Brock Lesnar or Wanderlei Silva fight Emelianenko, King Mo also wants a crack at Emelianenko.

Now, UFC heavyweight Andrei Arlovski is also hoping that the UFC will let him fight in another promotion for one fight in order to fight Emelianenko.

He spoke to BloodyElbow:

“About Fedor’s fight in Rizin FF – he fought some Indian movies actor!” said Arlovski. “If he only came to the UFC and competed with everyone else around. I heard he wanted to have the immediate title fight with Werdum. I wish he’d made 1-2 fights here [before having the title shot], but no. You see, Fedor is still a national hero in Russia. Therefore everything I say here will be perceived negatively. So Andrei Arlovski won’t become more popular in Russia after these words”.

Arlovski concluded with:

I think I can even persuade the UFC to let me fight outside the organization once.”
