Volkov (36-10 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since scoring a TKO victory over Jairzinho Rozenstruik in June of last year. The former Bellator champion has gone 3-2 over his past five fights overall.

The former Bellator champ had been inconsistent as of late, going just 4-4 in his last eight and was looking to remain a contender in the heavyweight division. Rozenstruik, meanwhile, was coming off a decision loss to Curtis Blaydes his last time out.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is glad to finally make the walk to the Octagon. Rozenstruik was supposed to face Marcin Tybura at UFC Columbus but the fight was ultimately moved to UFC 273 on April 9. However, after weighing in, Tybura fell ill and the fight was canceled again. After that, the promotion quickly booked him to face Alexander Volkov in a main event slot which Rozenstruik is happy about.

A heavyweight collision for this summer between Alexander Volkov and Jairzinho Rozenstruik has been set. The two title hopefuls will headline UFC Fight Night 207 on June 4th. The news was first broken by ESPN MMA‘s Brett Okamoto. The June 4th event currently has a lot of other matchups already set for the card. Some of the more notable bouts set for the card feature a bantamweight showdown between Dan Ige and Movsar Evloev, and a women’s flyweight fight between Erin Blanchfield and J.J. Aldrich.

Aspinall entered the fight being just 4-0 in the UFC and a relative unknown to many. He was coming off a TKO win over Serghei Spivac and also held a submission win over Andrei Arlovski. Marcin Tybura is on standby as he will serve as the backup fighter for the UFC London main event between Alexander Volkov and Tom Aspinall. After Russia invaded Ukraine, UFC president, Dana White said the UFC London main event was up in the air as he wasn’t sure if Volkov could enter the country. Although Volkov is now in the country, the next hurdle is having him actually fight. Some Russian athletes have been banned from other major sports competitions by other countries.

UFC heavyweight contender Alexander Volkov reacted following his unanimous decision win over Marcin Tybura on the main card of UFC 267. Volkov entered this fight as the No. 5 ranked heavyweight in the UFC, so he was defending his ranking against the No. 8 ranked Tybura in this fight. Although Volkov did not get the finish in this fight, he still did what he needed to do to get the decision victory. After winning the first round, Tybura battled back in the second to get back into the fight, but then Volkov won the third round to lock up the unanimous decision victory regardless.

Gane won a decision after outstriking Volkov over the course of 25 minutes in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 30 card. For Gane, it was yet another win in MMA as he improved to 9-0 as a pro including a perfect 6-0 mark in the Octagon alone. It was another fantastic performance for Gane, and he’s hoping that he fights for the belt next, which is currently held by his former training partner, UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.

UFC heavyweight Alexander Volkov reacted after losing a decision to Ciryl Gane at UFC Vegas 30, saying “I have a lot to grow and work on.” Volkov lost a unanimous decision to Gane in the main event of Saturday’s UFC Vegas 30 event. Although the striking statistics saw Gane officially only outland Volkov 135 to 115 in significant strikes, the Frenchman won a very wide decision on the judges’ scorecards, with the three cage-side judges scoring the bout 50-45, 50-45, and 49-46 in favor of Gane.
