MMA NEWS – War Machine Inks Deal With Bellator

The Viacom owned Bellator Fighting Championship has signed UFC veteran and recent parolee, War Machine to a multi-fight deal.

The 29-year-old California resident is fresh off a victory over Roger Huerta on the regional circuit and apparently the win was enough to get his signed to the upstart promotion.

After being released by the UFC, War Machine initially signed with Bellator in 2009, however after some controversial political views the company released him.

War Machine is fresh off of a one-year prison sentence for felony assault charges. The Huerta bout marked his first professional appearance since being released.

“My past has kind of shaped and molded who I’ve become, but the mistakes I’ve made in the past have definitely made me realize that I have to avoid certain situations in order to be the type of person I want to be,” War Machine stated in a company release. “I pressed rewind, and now I have a chance to get my life back on track. It feels great.

“Not everyone gets this kind of opportunity. I’m just stoked to be back in the mix here with Bellator. I didn’t get released from Bellator because I sucked. I got released because I was making poor decisions in my life. Right now I’m just out to show the world that I do belong here fighting the best with Bellator.”

Now word on when or against whom he will fight but stay tuned to BJPENN.COM for updates.

Why the hell did he change his name to War Machine? I had to look it up because it sounded too hilarious LOL.

    • Demi God says:

War Machine is actually owned & copy writed by someone else & he couldnt use it as a AKA so he legally changed his name to it so they HAVE to call him that.
