MMA NEWS- "Strikeforce Melendez vs. Masvidal" Salary Report: Mousasi & Melendez Top Earners

Last weekend’s Strikeforce event played host to nine professional Mixed Martial Arts fights. The total disclosed payroll released by the California State Athletic Commission came in at $580,000 for all 18 competitors on the night.
Strikeforce lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez and former Strikeforce light-heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi, topped the evening’s payroll with $150,000 each.
The remaining $280,000 was disbursed amongst the other 16 fighters.
“Strikeforce: Melendez vs. Masvidal” took place this past Saturday from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California. In the main event of the evening lightweight champion, Gilbert Melendez successfully defended his title against number one contender, Jorge Masvidal.
