On another note, good fight.
The top five lightweights in the UFC would whoop Melendez.
Most of the shots thrown by Melendez were either blocked or very unclean. Sure, he pushed the action and won the fight, but look at his face compared to Masvidal. This fight exposed Melendez, showing the world that he’s just a wild double jab-straight boxer that’s prone to jabs and counters. If he thought Masvidal was elusive on the stand up, he’s nowhere near ready for Frankie. It wasn’t as one sided as Pat Miletich claimed it was; guy seemed extremely biased in his commentary.
Wow for being high ranked Gilbert isnt so exciting they mention him in the same breath as frankie and the top 5 but im not so convinced no disrespect im a mma fan i like any promotion that has talent and great fights none of gils fights are too memorable
Strikeforce is a step down in talent.
Most Gil pinches we’re blocked, and they other guy wanted to jab Gil to death lol
I thought for sure this would go 3 rounds Boooooooo lol Damn Ward Boxing match was better lol
Lol damn iPhone ( punches )
Yeah gil ain’t all that I’m a damage guy and not that the judges got it wrong but gil lost in my eyes
edgar would humiliate melendez, i think maynard would dominate him as well
Frankie is not better then melendez or Jorge.. get off the UFC hype train..
A fight is a fight doesn’t matter in the UFC,Strikeforce, bellator, or the streets..
UFC just markets their fighters good and you morons buy it every time
u dont know shit,
You obviously have no clue..
Frankie was no body until be beat a slow Sean Sherk.. UFC built him up and after he won a fight against BJ he was recognized..
And he didn’t fight BJ he kind of ran around playing hit n run.. Frankie would get dropped by Gil and even Jorge could put up a good fight against him with his mau tai..
Dont think just because someone is in the UFC they are automatically better… Some unknown guys that are coming up are some serious threats but they fight in smaller shows like the dude who did Eddie Alverez in..
That second fight with Edgar sent BJ to another weight class. That’s gotta stand for something.
hating on frankie when hes proven himself is stupid. frankie has been busy fighting top dogs while gil is facing lower comp. easy to say ur the best when ur not challenging the best – hi eddie alvarez- but i seriously doubt gil would beat bj penn or gray maynard the guy barely beat clay guida back in the day.
And Guida’s way better now! Benson would WHOOP Melendez worse than Miller.
JARIS AKA ANGERFIST is a shit ****
Cyborg would beat all the guys that were on this last season of TUF.
I actually believe that.
It really has nothing to do with were a fighter fights it has everything to do with who they fight, the performance they put on and skills they show. Gill showed he’s a second class fighter cardio looked bad he got picked apart and tooken dwn at will neither fighters would do good in UFC because the pace and skill level is much higher. Gill knows he fights nobody’s but he in denial nobody hypes a fighter more then strikeforce they protect there champ even the announcers are told to make gill look good and u can tell the political bs surrounding him is a class act gills good and all but no were close to a top ten fighter. He just showed that in this fight. Alsogill talks way to much everybody knows the level of talent is slacking In 155 division in sf but gill still is the only fighter who’s not the best who promotes himself as the best he’s the only one running around saying he’s the best in the wrld talk bout delusions and being delusional gill couldn’t get past any of last 10 fights Edgar had in UFC sry he’s a self promoted dueshe who does it to him self Frankie never once brags about being best or either did bj but gill won’t shut the hell up about it
Remember when Jake Shields was ranked the number 2 welterweight in the world in Strikeforce? He definetly hasn’t proven it since he’s come to the UFC.
